Your data

We will process your personal data fairly and lawfully in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the "Act") solely in connection with your claim and the provision of services by us.

We may collect and process the personal data about you that we receive via telephone, letter, email or via any other method of communication. This will include (amongst other things) your name, address, date of birth and accident and injury details.

Some personal data that you provide will be sensitive personal data such as details about your health and injury; we need your express consent to process this data. You provided your express consent during your call with National Accident Helpline in which you gave confirmation that you wanted us to proceed with your claim.

We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.

Data Sharing

We will share your personal data (including sensitive personal data) with the solicitor firm specified overleaf so that they can commence work on your claim. If you have consented, we will also send to them and receive from them reports which provide updates and further details about the status of your claim and any financial awards or compensation received.

We use these reports to measure the quality of the service that you receive and to communicate with you. The solicitor firm will use these reports to manage your on-going claim and to measure the quality of the service that you receive.

If you have consented, we may also provide your personal data (including sensitive personal data) to our suppliers such as after-the-event insurance providers and medical report agencies to enable both National Accident Helpline Limited and the suppliers to measure the quality of the services they provide to you. Neither we nor our suppliers will pass on or sell your personal data (including sensitive personal data) to any third parties.

The personal data that we collect from you will also be used for the purposes of enabling a third party data processor to which we subcontract data processing services (Goallover Limited) to assess such data in order to provide data veracity, integrity and validity services to Digital Window and its other clients.

Your rights

The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised by sending a written request to the "Admin Team" at National Accident Helpline with a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
